Sometimes, for whatever reason, an unused/enabled lan network keeps you from connecting with your wireless one. You would need to 'Alt-tab' out of the game to hit 'Unblock'.Īlso, I have seen success disabling extra networks (wireless, lan, hamachi) when you're trying to play. With the networking, the only issue we saw was that the Windows Firewall blocked outgoing/incoming connections by default and we had to add exclusion rules for it, by clicking 'Unblock' in the dialog that pops up when the game runs.
We did notice some issues with the colours in AOE on Windows 7 that were related to a clash with the windows theme - you can see the solution for that at: Thanks for trying to help.I can see you've tagged this AOE 2 - we play LAN games of AOE 2 in our office network successfully with a mixed environment of Windows 7/XP machines.
I asked her to please tell me how to find the game. Me to Xbox, I asked her to please not do that, I don't own Xbox. I wasn't abusive, or abrasive.I didn't give her a hard time. The last thing I asked a MS Support Agent was how to find the game, which Control Panel says is installed, so I can try to launch it. I would totally understand if there is nothing you can do. And the rest of that stuff is Greek to me.
If it will.Įvery time I call someone, they give me a list of troubleshooting options, or they shuffle me to Xbox (which I don't have), or the Xbox people shuffle me back to MS Windows 10. And it's probably very simple forĮverybody else, but I have no clue how to find it and get it to run. Repair Microsoft Gaming Services extension and Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. You can find instructions on how to do so HERE. Try disabling your antivirus program and reinstalling the game before trying to play. Then I used File Explorer, and again, no match for the search. Some antivirus programs can interfere with the installation of the game files. So I searched for it through Start, and there was nothing. Went to Control Panel and AOE 3 was there, but of course After installing them I rebooted the system, but then I discovered the installation didn't include an icon on the desktop, which it normally does. That's what the last one said after it was installed. I tried again, and that time there were 3 programs that the system asked to be installed.DirectX 9.0, DirectPlay, and. I finally did get AOE 3 to install, but there was an initialization error at the end. I'm not nearly advanced enough to risk messing things up through some dumb mistake. Give this a try and let us know the results.Tried the troubleshooting link, all Xbox except the last entry, which involved doing something with Powershell. I recommend to try the following troubleshooting article: Troubleshoot I understand there is an issue with installing Age of Empires III.
